Do you feel like you’ve lost your teenager? Do you have a gut feeling that something isn’t quite right or noticed a major change in your son or daughter’s behavior? Has he or she been isolating or uninterested in engaging with others? Are they participating in social activities with friends you are concerned about? Has he or she stopped communicating openly with you as a parent? Are you concerned they are engaging in self-harming behaviors such as cutting, burning, scratching or using drugs or alcohol? Do you feel unable to understand and are confused as to how to help your teen?
You are not alone! Many times teens haven’t fully developed the emotional maturity to cope with the drastic changes and challenges they face during these years. Adolescent therapy can be beneficial in providing a safe and non-judgmental space for the teen to begin to self-identify and express their emotions more effectively, as well as learn to cope in more appropriate ways.
A great deal of sessions with adolescents is done on a one-on-one basis; however Jade will remain in close contact with you, the parent, to improve the relationship between you and your teenager.
